Tanzania Expedition
We had our first Tanzania Expedition in June 2024 and we are now planning our June 2026 expedition. This experience is an absolutely invaluable experience for our young people and it changes the lives of the families we support and everyone who takes part. You can read some of our students blogs here.
The expedition takes learning well beyond the classroom and students spend two incredible and transformative weeks in Tanzania, experiencing the way in which in-country organisations like TAWREF are empowering local communities through sustainable development practices.
Not only will our students be able to strengthen their understanding of how TAWREF works with local leaders and neighbours to develop and implement strategies for community empowerment, they will also have the opportunity to spend time with some of the families that this organisation helps to support.
All participants will hear their individual stories and discover just how the provision of a new home can make such a transformative difference to their lives, inspiring a new sense of security, stability, and hope for the future.
These expeditions will also include opportunities to visit a local school and meet Tanzanian students of a similar age, where students can share stories about their lives and aspirations for the future together.
Everyone also spends time in a nearby village to hear from local leaders and experts on the impacts of climate change on communities in the region, and will be able to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and compelling history and culture of the surrounding area.
We look forward to our students sharing their experiences with everyone and working with our ASG primaries to look at Global Citizenship and the how we can support the Rights of young people globally
