Physics - National 5
The National 5 Physics course covers the following:
Dynamics and Space: This unit focuses on the study of motion, forces, energy, and space. Students learn about the laws of motion, forces and their effects, energy transformations, and the motion of celestial bodies.
Properties of Matter and Electricity: This unit explores the properties of matter and the principles of electricity. Students investigate concepts such as density, pressure, temperature, and the behaviour of gases. They also learn about electrical circuits, components, and their practical applications.
Waves and Radiation: This unit delves into the behaviour and properties of waves and radiation. Students study topics like the properties of light and sound waves, reflection, refraction, diffraction, and the nature of radiation.
Electricity and Energy: This unit focuses on electrical circuits, energy sources, and energy transformations. Students learn about voltage, current, resistance, and power, as well as the generation and distribution of electricity.
This course provides a solid foundation in the key principles of physics, preparing students for apprenticeships, further studies or careers in science, engineering, and related fields.
