Uniform

At Milne’s High School we encourage pupils to wear appropriate school wear and are delighted that our young people, supported by their parents, choose to do so on a daily basis. The following is our agreed dress code for Milne’s High School:

Agreed Uniform from August 2025

  • Shoes
    • Black shoes/trainers (PREFERRED)
    • Mostly black trainers (white soles or small white logos allowed but no other colours)
  • Bottoms
    • Black trousers
    • Fully black jeans (no rips)
    • Black skirt (with leggings underneath or tights)
    • Black shorts (formal trouser material- no sports shorts)
    • S1-4 Only - Thick black leggings (no sports branding or colours allowed) (ARRANGED THROUGH PTG)
    • S1-4 Only - Black tracksuit bottoms (no sports branding or colours allowed) (ARRANGED THROUGH PTG)
  • Top half
    • White shirt and school tie
    • Black school jumper or cardigan
    • Plain black jumper
    • Plain black cardigan

*Non-school hoodies are not part of the school uniform.

We continue to phase out our school hoodies and these will no longer be available to buy. This is to reduce the cost for parents as we are aware how expensive these can be and we want to reduce the amount of non-school hoodies being worn. If your child still has a school hoodie and wishes to wear it they can but these will no longer be on sale. We would much prefer for parents to buy plain black jumpers or cardigans to reduce the cost of school uniform.

We have noticed an increase in branded jumpers and hoodies and would urge parents to not allow their child to wear these to school. Not everyone can afford some of these branded items and we want everyone to feel part of our school community. We want to make our uniform as accessible as possible for everyone so we would appreciate your support with this when buying new uniform for your child’s return in August.

NB No article of clothing should feature any logos (apart from school logos). All articles of clothing should be functional i.e. they should be of the type that is acceptable in all areas of the school in terms of safety, hygiene and, in particular, modesty.

We are aware that some of our young people have sensory issues and may find it difficult to wear all of the agreed school uniform. Reasonable adjustments can be made to support your child to wear something that is comfortable for them and that still allows them to feel part of the Milne's High School community. Please contact your child's Guidance Teacher if you wish to discuss this.

Please note school shirts, trousers, skirts, jumpers, cardigans, blazers and school ties are now purchased direct through our supplier Price & Buckland. Please access the online shop via the button below where you can purchase all your uniform in one place:
